Default _--***The President Donald J. Trump thread***--_

Oh yeah. I'm glad nobody thought of this before I did. I felt this was an appropriate quote to begin with:

“Every critic, every detractor, will have to bow down to President Trump. It’s everyone who’s ever doubted Donald, who ever disagreed, who ever challenged him. It is the ultimate revenge to become the most powerful man in the universe.” - Omarosa Manigault

I will then post a link to this lovely piece of history that shows how badly certain people misjudged things (full disclosure, I am one of said people)

I own it.

I predicted a Donald Trump win until sometime in the summer. (May?)

But I allowed myself to be lulled by the polls. I thought the Billy Bush tape was a shot below the waterline. I thought Trump was done, then.

I was wrong.

I thought the election was such a foregone conclusion I didn't even bother checking on how it was doing until the next morning. Imagine my surprise

so chris christie is out re: transition team*, pence is in, and his initial team looks like an intentional assault against education and civility. all he needs to do is add sarah palin and it will be complete.

*i'm assuming this is due to rising concerns re: bridgegate. when chris christie is too toxic for donald trump, that's a pretty serious WTF moment.

A-Hunting we will go!!

Interestingly, hunters spend more per capita than any other group of environmental activists... Mostly because tags cost so damned much!!

Reince Priebus is the White House Chief of Staff
Steve Bannon is an amorphously titled "Chief Strategist and Senior Counselor"

Trump's press release states Priebus and Bannon will have equal authority.

Priebus is an insider's insider, so much for "draining the swamp." Meanwhile, Bannon is a darling of the moronic-alt-right subwing. It's unclear what a "Chief Strategist and Senior Counselor" does.

Edit to add for Kalzazz's amusement: Reince Priebus is a close ally and champion of Scott Walker

Sounds like a recipe for chaos and conflict [which might be just what we want from a Trump White House], but it sounds a little like FDR, who would convince most of his staffers that he agreed with them, even when he then did something quite different.

Quote:
“Bannon is going to be keeper of the image of Trump as a fighter against the status quo, and Reince is going to utilize his personal connections with the speaker and others, to make the trains run on time,” said Ken Blackwell, a former Ohio state official and a member of the Trump transition team.
Emphasis mine.

Give him a chance, they said.
