OOC: That's what I gathered from your previous description. Just playing with Aliens quotes/paraphrases.

And with that, he left the cave to do just that.

As Selsdrin turned to leave, there was a sudden stillness. All the tiny larvae and writhing worms throughout the room turned as one to the group. There was a sound like a great bellows working as the form of the great Wyrm rose over the pit. One end of the beast divided into three larger tentacles, which in turn writhed with its sucking spawn.

Knowing they lacked the ability to kill the demonspawn hellbeast, and assuming the others would join him in time, Selsdrin ran as if...

Well, as if that thing was behind him.

Malek faced the beast with an outward calm. That was only because on the inside, his mind was racing. It was true he was no druid, but the half-orc knew enough to realise that the monstrosity before them was definitely not of this world. And the thought horrified him.

How were they meant to kill something like that? And the Black Lotus wanted him to parley? Sod the fat bastard. He could come and make his own deals with the beast...

Malek willed himself to turn and move. It took all of his self control not to bolt instantly, instead making sure all of his friends were safe and moving away. He caught sight of Selsdrin already moving at speed, and had to admit that the moredhel probably had the right idea. He moved quicker now, gaining momentum, still feeling as if that thing's tentacled maw was about to snatch him up any second. He dared not turn to look behind, pushing himself onward instead. He gripped the oar even tighter until his knuckles were white with protest.

"Let's move!" he bellowed, more to shake the terror off than to inspire the others. "Look for a way to cave this place in on our way out! Let's GO!"

Gronk griped his hammer tightly and stared down the beast. "Perhaps today is a good day to die."

Gronk needed no other cue than that. He pushed the others toward the exit in an effort to let them escape as much as so that he could get a full swing with his hammer. He let out a mighty war cry and swung at the cave wall hoping to bury the worm.

Selsdrin continued to rapidly scout ahead of the party, moving toward the rendezvous point. The team would be right behind him... or not.

He recalled the story of the freezing spider, an ancient legend of his people. A story that made no sense, since the main character died at the end.

On the other hand, a talking spider could tell whomever she wanted.

The lesson he had learned was to always be the spider, never the dead idiot.

Give me a damage roll, with your special ability for destroying inanimate objects in mind. You don't need to roll to-hit.

Gronk kept his eyes on the worm as the others ran for saftey. "Puny humans." He grumbled to himself "Run, run to your safety of your mothers arms. I will destroy this beast."

OOC: not sure how you want to work the special ability or if the cave wall is a S-M target or a L but the rolls are

S-M 3+7 (STR mod)= 10
L 4+7(STR mod) =11 :OOC

Gronk stood for a moment at the mouth to the tunnel. The others had run back toward the surface. Gronk watched as the floor began to writhe as the skins of those who suffered and were eaten danced like jelly. Worms like the one he saw explode out of the boy squirmed out of the pit, as the huge 3-tentacled end of the thing from the pit swayed and seemed to focus on him.

Taking his hammer, Gronk brought it down against the side of the cave. His iron-hard arms, forged in the frozen north, swung the hammer like the wrath of a god. Sparks flew. Gronk heard a crack deep within the rock, and it shuddered as he struck again. Finally, huge chunks began falling, and Gronk had to spring back to keep from getting crushed. The tunnel collapsed, and some of the worms were buried.
